Alumni Career Chat: Connecting Life Experiences to Career Pathways

·       Curious how you can learn from your experiences to figure out your next steps?

·       Interested in a career as a counsellor?

·       Wondering if further education is right for you?

Oriana Evoy (Master of Education in Counselling Psychology, '20) hosts this small-group interactive session.  Oriana went through her undergrad unsure of what she wanted to do for a career.  She decided to major in Hispanic Studies because she had already taken half of the needed courses.  She was very active in extra curriculars, including a peer counselling program, and during her studies also completed a diploma program in Intercultural Education and Training.  With that experience and her degree, she ended up working as a homestay coordinator for international students coming to Canada to learn English.  She quickly realized that what she loved most about her job was the aspects that were closest to counselling, and decided to follow that passion through a Master's degree.  That degree has helped her launch her new career as a Psychotherapist.

This is an open session (i.e. there will be no presentation) and will be based on the questions raised from the group. Attendance is capped to ensure participants have the space to share their questions.

How to participate:
