Join us for an introductory workshop on anti-oppression concepts tailored to Bachelor of Kinesiology students! This interactive workshop will explore various concepts related to self-advocacy, allyship and solidarity, particularly within a health and physical activity context. Students of all backgrounds are welcome. 

Participants will: 

  • Identify the layers in which oppression manifests and provide examples in the context of health education  

  • Draw from a strength-based model to identify examples of resistance to each layer of oppression  

  • Communicate strategies for engaging in self-advocacy and allyship when discrimination occurs
