What does the term intersectionality mean? What are the origins of the term, and what are its critiques and expansions?

This interactive workshop, offered by the Office of the Registrar and Student Services and facilitated by KPE's Equity Engagement & Student Advisor, is tailored to students in the Bachelor of Kinesiology (BKin) program and will provide a deep and comprehensive understanding of intersectionality. Students of all backgrounds are welcome!

 
Participants will 

• Examine the term intersectionality, it’s origins, critiques and expansions 

• Understand how systems of oppression are created and their differences depending on time, space and location

• Identify the ways which power mutually constructs systems of oppression
