Sabrina Malouka Abdel Malak is a third year undergrad student working under the supervision of Dr. Catherine Sabiston at MPARC, the Mental Health and Physical Activity Research Centre at UofT. Her research interests surround body image, and the impact of social media on physical activity and mental health.
Rachel Dunn is a 4th year PhD Candidate in the Sport Psychology & Performance Lab, supervised by Dr. Katherine Tamminen. Research interests include: positive youth development in sport, parenting in sport, and coping with transitions in sport. Rachel also works as an applied sport psychology consultant with athletes from youth to professional levels.
Daniel Wilson is a fifth year Bachelor of Kinesiology student under the supervision of Michael Atkinson. His research interest is: Masculine Embodiment in Sport.
Zeana Hamdonah (she/her) is a first-year PhD student at KPE. She is working directly with Dr. Janelle Joseph in the IDEAS Lab. Some of her research interests include indigeneity, racism, politics, colonialism and imperialism in sport, community health (and body movement) under occupation, cross-refugee, and cross-indigenous relations and immigration. Her PhD work is informed by critical race and post-colonial scholarship.
Anessa Koussiouris is a third-year undergraduate student in the KPE program. She is working in the Iovate/Muscletech Metabolism and Sports Science Lab under the supervision of Dr. Jenna Gillen. Anessa is currently leading an at-home research study investigating the effectiveness of non-invasive methods for postprandial glycemic control. As well, she has worked with Dr. Katherine Tamminen in the Sport and Performance Psychology Lab. Anessa has had the opportunity to engage in both qualitative and quantitative methods, and has learned a lot through both research experiences!
Stefan Bianchi is a second-year Master of Science in Kinesiology student working with Dr. Michael Hutchison in the Concussion Research Program here in the faculty of KPE! Stefan’s research interests are centred around the clinical aspect of concussion, with his thesis examining sex differences in athletes’ risk of future musculoskeletal injury following return to sport from a sport-related concussion.
