Social Action Pop-Up: #uoftvotes Voter Registration Day
featuring Apathy is Boring
September 10, 2021
On September 20, there is a Canadian Federal Election. If you are 18+ on the day of the election and a Canadian citizen, you are eligible to vote! But thanks to COVID, this election is going to be a little different.
Join us over Zoom on Friday September 10 at 11AM-12:30PM for a day of action!
Young Canadians make up over 40% of eligible voters. That’s the largest voting bloc in the country. That means we can have a large impact on who wins this election. The results of this election impact your day to day life!
Special guest Daniele-Jocelyne Otou from Apathy is Boring will be leading the discussion to talk about what you need to do to get ready for this election and what elections issues impact you!
You will be able to:
- Talk to other U of T students about why this election is important
- International students can come learn about what Canadian elections are all about and talk about what civic action looks like in your country
- Eligible voters, you make your vote day plan and register to vote in person or by mail
Register now and invite your friends!
The event is a collaboration between UTM Centre for Student Engagement, Centre for Community Partnerships, Hart House, UTSC Office of Student Experience & Wellbeing, University of Toronto Canadian Politics Society, Apathy is Boring
